Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, sliced thin
  • 1 tbsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 28 oz can whole peeled tomatoes, crushed
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions
 

  • Boil penne in salted water until al dente.
  • Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add sliced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté gently until garlic is golden.
  • Add crushed tomatoes and salt. Simmer for 15 minutes until sauce thickens and oil separates.
  • Toss cooked pasta into the sauce. Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

Slice the garlic instead of mincing to prevent burning.
