Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb lean ground beef (90/10)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 12 count hard taco shells

Instructions
 

  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add ground beef and break apart with a spoon.
  • Add diced onion to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft. Drain excess grease if needed.
  • Stir in garlic, chili powder, cumin, oregano, and salt. Cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  • Pour in tomato sauce and water. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 8-10 minutes until thickened.
  • Warm taco shells in the oven. Fill with meat and top with cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes.

Notes

Warm your taco shells in the oven at 350°F for 5 minutes before serving for maximum crunch and flavor.
