Why This Recipe Works

  • Using a no-boil method for the noodles makes this recipe incredibly quick and easy to prepare.
  • The combination of soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and rice vinegar creates a rich, savory broth that complements the noodles and potstickers perfectly.
  • The addition of ginger and garlic adds depth and complexity to the dish, balancing out the sweetness of the noodles and sauces.

Key Ingredients

Noodles are an integral part of this dish, and for the best results, look for a fresh, high-quality noodle brand that holds its texture well, such as Soba or Udon noodles. Additionally, use a good-quality soy sauce that is low in sodium and made from fermented soybeans for the best flavor. For the potstickers, look for a package of pre-made potstickers at your local Asian market or grocery store, or make your own using a simple recipe found online. It’s also crucial to use a high-quality hoisin sauce that is free from high-fructose corn syrup and added sugar for the best results.

For the cabbage, use a fresh, firm variety that can hold its texture well, such as green cabbage or Napa cabbage. Also, be sure to use a good-quality ginger and garlic for the best flavor. Finally, use a low-sodium soy sauce and rice vinegar for the best results.

1 cup chopped cabbage

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 teaspoon grated ginger

2 tablespoons water

2 cups noodles

Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.

3
Stir in the chopped cabbage and cook until it’s slightly tender, about 2-3 minutes.

4
In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and rice vinegar. Pour the sauce into the pot and stir to combine.

5
Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, until the sauce has thickened slightly. Stir in the grated ginger and water. Season with salt to taste.

Storage & Reheating

Allow the Potsticker Noodle Bowl to cool completely, then store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, microwave the mixture for 30-45 seconds, or until hot and steaming. Alternatively, you can reheat it on the stovetop over medium heat until warmed through. Note that the noodles will become softer and less textured when reheated, so this is best served hot.
