Ingredients
1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 egg whites
1 1/4 cups whole milk
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Grease two 9-inch pans.
3. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
4. Add vanilla extract.
5. Combine dry ingredients separately.
6. Alternate adding milk and dry ingredients.
7. Beat egg whites to soft peaks and fold gently.
8. Bake 25–30 minutes, cool, and serve.
